Welcome to Chancery House, the newest addition to The Office Group's portfolio of exclusive office spaces. This building, located on London's Chancery Lane, boasts a fascinating history as it was originally constructed in 1885 as a safe deposit and silver vaults. In the 1950s, the building was reconstructed to create office spaces for businesses in the city's Midtown area. Steeped in history and located in the heart of London, this building offers an impressive eight floors of premium office space that prioritizes the well-being and flexibility of its occupants.
The Office Group acquired the freehold back in 2019 and set about creating a stunning retrofitted space that pays homage to the building's storied past while providing modern-day amenities. With The Office Group's internal designers alongside Danish practice Norm Architects and London-based dMFK Architects leading the charge, the resulting architecture and interiors are nothing short of exceptional. Sophie Werren, lead architect at The Office Group, explains, "We're always ambitious with each project, and the scale of Chancery House presented a wonderful opportunity to create a building that is both beautiful and has an exceptional range of amenities."
As you enter through the enormous stainless-steel doors that pay tribute to the subterranean silver markets, you'll be struck by the bright and refreshing reception area. The color and material palette create a calming yet inviting atmosphere, combining red brick, brushed stainless steel, handmade tiles, sandstone, and concrete throughout the building. According to Sofie Thorning, Architect & Partner at Norm Architects, "The Office Group has mastered the balance of usability and aesthetics; always rethinking how work life can be improved. Their strong focus on design is key to achieving that and, for us as designers, that makes the process a joy."
