From designer cashmere sweaters to poop bag holders worth hundreds, the latest fashion trend to take over the market is not meant for humans. Accessories and fashion for dogs are the next big thing. Prada, Hermès, and more are taking a walk with this venture...

People love their pets and would do absolutely anything for them. Fashion brands have begun to take notice, and collections are offering items such as dog bowls, leashes, and clothing for man and woman's best friends. Prada offers stylish raincoats, comfy cashmere sweaters, and more for your furry friend. Hermès created a logo-branded flying disc to play with at the dog park, among many other things. Gucci has also released a pet collection with everything from collars to pet carriers. Due to the changing lifestyle during the pandemic, pets have become more of a priority. The American Pet Products Association reported that the National Pet Industry exceeded $100 billion in sales for the first time. Since then, the industry has continued to grow and is expected to stay on an upward trend.

One brand is dedicating itself only to the fashion of dogs. Pagerie describes itself as "an ultra-luxury fashion house for pets." The brand's founder, Mandy Madden Kelley, is a social media influencer who noticed a gap in the market. She said, "The only thing on the market was the typical high-end fashion brand, making very basic collars and slapping their logo on them and calling it a day. I wanted something more sustainable, durable, and meaningful." And so, she came up with the idea for Pagerie. Some items available on the website include a sleek leather pochette available in various colors for $152 or a leather waist bag meant for owners to carry everything they may need during the walk for $950. All their items are handmade in Spain.

With the increase in pets and owners who love them, this market is clearly here to stay. From Gucci to Prada, there are so many options to style your dog in the very best. What item do you want to buy first?
