Moncler has soared through the fashion industry with its winter wonders, from lightweight to long down jackets, windbreakers, shoes, and all types of ready-to-wear garments. Yet, its synergized collection of attire has raised eyebrows in the past few years and now taking it to the next level in the fashion world.
Founded in 1952, the Italian high-end luxury fashion house originally started with a line of jackets to brace consumers for the lowest temperatures. Since then, it has reigned over the industry, expanding its stock with everyday essentials. Now, buyers of all ages and sexes can purchase clothing custom to their own style, not to mention the brand offers its own ski range, gifts, and personalization element. The brand has outsmarted all winter fashion collections, making a statement on cold couture. Even so, the brand has expanded its collections by category, such as the Moncler Collection, the "must-haves for both metropolitan and mountain lifestyles," Moncler Grenoble, "made for the slopes," and Moncler Genius, "a curatorial approach to creation." In 2018, Moncler coined Moncler Genius as the ultimate "collaborative project."
Brand CEO, Remo Ruffini, launched the side hustle with the aim to "invite the industry's most exciting designers and brands to have their say on archetypal Moncler pieces," says Highsnobiety. Since its launch, the brand has incorporated the works of JW Anderson, 101 ALYX 9SM, Craig Green, Palm Angels, and more into its pieces. Without a doubt, the unique combinations devoured success, and now five years later, Ruffini is embarking on his creation for London Fashion Week in 2023. The live showcase is set to commence on February 20th. According to a statement via Highsnobiety, "the forthcoming showcase will give voice to a new roster of creative minds coming from all disciplines and spaces, each one expressing a distinct interpretation of the Moncler world." Despite its previously announced partnerships, it is not yet declared which high-end designers will be involved in the London event. Yet, we don't think Moncler has completely cleared the high-end roster, so we can estimate some wild collaborations coming our way. Moncler Genius, as explained on its website, has allowed external designers to "reimagine Moncler codes." Offering creative freedom from one designer to another is nothing but a product of success and desire.
According to WWD, the company provided a statement explaining, "London is a city where the world feels at home, it’s a global community championing diversity and creativity and a natural destination for the next embodiment of Moncler Genius. The stage is set to give voice to a new roster of creative minds coming from all disciplines and spaces, each one expressing a distinct interpretation of the Moncler world." Let's go, 2023, we're ready for you.
