The Montero singer has just been crowned Yves Saint Laurent Beauté's latest U.S. brand ambassador - and well, we can't imagine anyone who is more suited for the prestigious role. Lil Nas X is known for bringing the best of the best to the red carpet, along with his shining personality and head-bopping beats. So when the music phenom was hailed as the next ambassador, we knew we would be in for some fun...
Lil Nas X will support the French luxury houses' newest brand initiatives, which include both men's makeup and fragrances - all while taking over the U.S. advertisements and campaigns. With X as the face of the beauty line, the company hopes to help consumers seek out their beauty without feeling confined to the typical societal norm. According to YSL Beauté's U.S. General Manager, Laetitia Raoust, "The synergies between the brand and Lil Nas X's unwavering passion for individuality are the inspiration behind this partnership, with the hope it empowers the next generation of beauty." Within empowering the next generation of beauty, the partnership hopes to "keep pushing the boundaries of identity" and "challenge the status quo," according to Jennifer Frommer, SVP of Partnerships & Commercial Licensing at Columbia Records.
In the first round of campaign shots for the beauty brand, the new brand ambassador can be seen rocking both denim on denim and leather fits in the desert while rocking a glittery blue shadow, the "Lash Clash" mascara, and the "Rouge Pur Couture: The Bold" lip color. Discussing his partnership with the brand, X explained, "It's been a lot of fun working on this campaign with YSL Beauté – they're such an iconic brand, and I'm happy to be a part of something so unique and groundbreaking in the beauty world. Shout out to YSL for embracing me and my campness and for inspiring change for the next generation of beauty."
Well, it doesn't stop there. Lil Nas X will also drop "an unreleased, never-heard-before track" to help hype up the collab and his position as brand ambassador. So, of course, we can't wait to check that out. In the meantime, we'll be drooling over his latest red carpet look at this year's VMAs.
