It is the coziest time of year, with the firewood burning in the fireplace, a warm cup of hot chocolate in your hand, and the biggest, fluffiest blanket covering you on the couch. Winter has its perks. However, when you are freezing to the bone and are daydreaming of a warm place to go to, why not make that dream a reality? Here are some of our favorite warm destinations to check out this winter.

If relaxing on a beach surrounded by the brightest blue water is your type of thing, then Bora Bora in French Polynesia is the destination for you. The average winter temperatures reach a high of 86 degrees and a low of 75 degrees. You can snorkel with sharks, ride jet skis, or take a book and read at the beach. Another great beach destination is Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. You can walk along the Malecón Boardwalk, go on a whale-watching tour, or enjoy one of the many spectacular beaches. With the average winter temperatures having a high of 81 degrees and a low of 63 degrees, you will forget about your winter jacket. Of course, there is also the Bahamas. This is a quick, easy option for anyone living on the East Coast, and with an average high of 77 degrees in the winter, it is a no-brainer. (Soon enough, you’ll be able to stay at the latest Six Senses hotel.)

Not everyone is a beach person, so if you are more of the adventurous, go-getter type of traveler, one of the following destinations may be the one for you: Cosa Rica is a South American hot spot for the adventurer. While there are coasts of beaches, there is plenty to do within the rainforest, like ziplining, hiking, and rappelling. The average high is 95 degrees, while the average low is 72 degrees in the winter. Another excellent destination for those who prefer touring and staying active is Okinawa, Japan. The southern islands of Okinawa reach an average high of 70 degrees, while the average low is 57 degrees. There are plenty of things to do, like biking around the island, experiencing the Ryukyu Lantern Festival, or visiting a cat café. Or, have the best of both worlds by visiting Cape Town, South Africa. The majestic mountains overlook the incredible beaches, and there is something for everyone in this city. The average winter temperature reaches a high of 83 degrees and a low of 59 degrees. From hiking to bar hopping to relaxing on the beach, there is plenty to do.

This winter, make your dreams a reality by booking a dreamy destination vacation. Now the only question left is - where are you going to go?
