It was recently given the honor of being named one of Tripadvisor’s best beaches in the US. It received fourth place, to be exact. From the dramatic backdrop of the Nāmolokama mountain to the two-mile-long coastline, there’s plenty that the beach has to offer. The beach is located on the island of Kauai, which boasts lush forests and the clearest waters. It’s easy to see why Hanalei is not only a favorite of locals and visitors but also has become a favorite of Hollywood. The 1957 film South Pacific featured the breathtaking Hanalei Bay in its opening sequence, and George Clooney walked along the beach’s shore in his Academy Award-winning movie The Descendants.
